Ever Heard of "Face Mapping"?

If you've ever wondered about what your breakouts mean, then this is some good stuff to read up on!

Zone 1 & 3: Bladder & Digestive System — Improve your diet and drink more water.
Zone 2: Liver — Try cutting back on alcohol, heavy food or dairy. This area can also indicate a food allergy.
Zone 4 & 10: Kidneys — Make sure you’re keeping yourself hydrated with water and cut back on liquids that dehydrate you. This means nix the soda, coffee and/or alcohol.
Zone 5 & 9: Respiratory system — Those who smoke or have allergies tend to have acne here.
Zone 6 & 8: Kidneys — Dark circles are usually a result of dehydration. Drink up!
Zone 7: Heart — Check your blood pressure and make sure you’re not using makeup that irritates your skin.
Zone 12: Stomach — Consider a detox or adding more fiber to your diet to help with digestion.
Zone 11 & 13: Hormones — Stress and hormonal changes can sometimes be alleviated with more water and a few extra servings of dark, leafy greens but if breakouts in this area persistent, make an appointment with your doctor to look into a possible hormonal imbalance. Additionally, breakouts in this area also indicate when you are ovulating (and which side).
Zone 14: Illness — Can be a sign of your body fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Take a breather and drink plenty of fluids.

Moral of the Story Is:

DRINK TONS OF WATER! Our mom's and doctors are not lying when they say that lots of water = clear skin!

I know I'll be drinking more water!

Happy face-mapping!

BareMinerals Matte SPF 15 Foundation!

What Got Me Started

All throughout high school I became more and more into makeup. I would literally do full on beautiful makeup just because I was bored at home.. and most of the time I never even went anywhere to show it off!

I would spend loads of time on my makeup in the morning before school. Not only because I loved doing makeup in general, but because I was SUPER insecure. So when I covered up my insecurities.. I felt accomplished and empowered that I could make myself look pretty. The insecurity I'm talking about would be the god-awful acne!

I'm happy to say that my face isn't that way anymore! I've actually had it tamed for 2 years straight and it's all thanks to Neutrogena's skinID line! I'll do a post about my skin care another time :)
UPDATE: The Neutrogena SkinID is now discontinued :( I started breaking out again and I was super unhappy with it but I've once again got it tamed with the acne.org regimine! I strongly recommend visiting their website. They not only sell their own products, but they have an entire community where people do reviews and post about what works for them, too.

The Point of Today!

What I wanted to talk about today was foundation.

So here it is!

Now, this picture is one that I JUST took, at the end of my day. I work an 8-hour job and this is the same makeup I put on this morning!

Of course the flash on the camera makes my face look lighter than it would in person, but this color matches my skin PERFECTLY!

What I have on is the bareMinerals SPF 15 Matte Foundation in the shade, "medium beige"

I've used the bareMinerals foundation since I was a freshman in high school. It's been a long time! I've tried just about 2 other brands but after about a day I always went back to my lovely bareMinerals!

I just love how it feels on my face, and the medium to full coverage is so great! You can layer this baby on as much as you want, and it still feels weightless, like there's absolutely nothing on your face! I really like the matte finish because my skin is oily. It's clear, now, but still oily! It's so annoying.

Anyways, if you are looking for a completely natural looking foundation that looks airbrushed, covers well and just looks amazing, definitely go with the bareMinerals foundation! It's won beauty awards and everything of the sort. CLICK HERE and check it out!
I also use their SPF 20 Concealer in the shade, "summer bisque".

Brushes I Use

I use this brush to apply the foundation. I love it because it's dense and really distributes the product nicely.
Then I use this handy little guy to apply the concealer under my eyes and on any red spots or blemishes.
And finally I use their Mineral Veil finishing powder to really keep the oil at bay! and I apply that with a big fluffy MAC brush. It has old numbering I think because it just says it's number 1.
